The new version should likely arrive once 11 is released. I just wish they would choose a newer model rather than pushing the existing one out with outdated equipment.
They might refresh the hardware next year? The existing software should support updates. Many makers are eager for a Windows update similar to this one. Could Surface Duo or other phones be coming with Windows 11 mobile soon?
Microsoft previously had a mobile operating system that failed, and it's unlikely they'll attempt it again. The introduction of Android app support seems to be a response to criticism of Chrome OS.
They've likely attempted this several times already. It might be worth continuing until it sticks.
Did they really think so? They used Windows CE, which later turned into Windows Mobile (it performed fairly well before the iPhone), and then they launched Windows Phone (which came about too late to compete effectively).
