I've got a Nexus 7 from 2013 with WiFi 6E, but I haven't installed Android 5 yet. Is it possible for Google to keep releasing updates for WiFi Nexus devices? I just don't want to flash the older version.

It’s highly likely this is happening.

I own a Galaxy S4 (Snapdragon 600) and I'm still stuck on Android 4.3. When will the next carrier release it? (Never, I just flashed a ROM). What do you mean by rolling out? Google never truly stops updating. Think about it: if they released Android 5 today, you could still upgrade to it five years later. They won't delete the update from their servers if it's the latest version for your device. The rollout will happen quickly. EDIT: Updates tend to spread slowly—maybe only 30% of devices get it at first, then gradually reach 100%. Google probably expects this, since major bugs are rare. Most phones will install it right away. Edited December 3, 2014 by UltraNeonGaming

I understand the changes differ from person to person—some received the 5.0 update while others didn’t. Don’t stress; if you’re eager for those quick benefits, you can try it, even though you mentioned you didn’t want to.

He already has version 4.4.4 running on his S4, which is a T-Mobile model.

Rolling out is happening now. Google selects a certain number of random devices each day to prevent server overload. Pressing the "check for updates" button actually reduces your chances and slows progress, so stay calm.
