My Pixel 7A running Android 16 has repeatedly failed to update google play system updates across weeks now. I have done the following: Ensured the google app is enabled. Disconnected my VPN and no connection locks. Clear the cache of google play store and google play related apps. Restarted my phone. Storage is plentiful. I am out of ideas and wondering if anyone else is having these issues or know a solution please. Any questions please ask. Thank you very much.

Have you attempted removing it? I encountered this issue on a Pixel 5 and resolved it by deleting it (restoring the original factory version) and then applying an update, which succeeded.

I'd reach out to customer support for guidance, as resetting the phone to factory settings can be quite frustrating. If that doesn't resolve the issue, you might need to try another Wi-Fi network.

It's a pixel; you can always restart the system manually. It feels a bit excessive, but it goes beyond a simple factory reset.

I've tried it with my own data, but nothing happened. If they suggest a factory reset, I might consider using Graphene OS.
