Analyze AMD GPU performance and frame rates.
System: I'm using a Ryzen 5600 with an RX 6800XT and 32GB RAM at 3200MHz. Recently, my GPU didn't seem to be working at full capacity in Persona 3 R ->. It dropped to an unplayable state with stutters and frame drops even though the GPU was only at 5% usage. The next day, while playing Valorant, I noticed it was capped at 60 FPS, which has been consistent since then. I thought the AMD drivers might be the issue, so I reinstalled the old ones in hopes of a fix, but it didn't help. I checked my Windows settings for refresh rate, AMD display options, and power settings. Then I switched the game to a secondary monitor (same Acer Nitro XV272U, 144Hz WQHD), and it ran normally, which only added to my confusion. When the game was in fullscreen, FPS would reset to 60 again. I explored every display setting on Windows, but no indication was found about a refresh rate cap. Please advise... UPDATE: Disabling AMD Freesync in the software didn't stop it, so I turned it off via the monitor settings. FPS increased to 120, but when VSync was enabled, it dropped back to 60. This suggests something is causing my monitor to behave unpredictably. Could age be affecting this?
On the primary or secondary screen? It maintains consistency in borderless windowed mode. Quick checks with a few monitors suggest stability. A faulty unit might cause problems, though.
On both screens it maintained 60 frames per second in full screen, and on the main display it also operated smoothly in borderless mode. For some unexplained reason, everything functioned correctly today without any adjustments. It seems the PC had already been restarted several times, so a reboot shouldn't affect it. I’m starting to lose interest in AMD graphics cards and might be opting for a higher-end NVidia next time.
