The body slam moves aren't really what you're looking for. The soul core powers would be a better match. Some long-range attacks and combos can last a while and deal solid damage, but a quick 10-second combo rarely works best. The levels are quite large. It seems you probably won't finish the DLC stories before completing the main story, so it depends on how fast you finish the game.

I discovered a workaround that makes sense after looking back. The game allows you to add any items from the menu to the storehouse, which is unusual since soul cores are only available from the smithy menu. However, there doesn’t appear to be a cap—though I’m still verifying. Using menu → items → storehouse helps a lot because it lets me clear space regularly without losing progress. It’s not perfect, but it works well enough for this issue. Overall, the game remains enjoyable with its deep combat and anime-inspired style, making it more engaging than typical hack-and-slash titles. This feature also adds some strategic depth, though I understand it can feel repetitive if you rely too much on it.

The timing tricks for your strikes and evasions make stamina handling quite clear. The system also emphasizes needing strong stance for meaningful damage, especially with certain weapons, which I found appealing.

I rushed through it because I struggled with all the side quests and main missions. Finally I tackled "Tengus discipline"! Ugh, ten missions in total... well, yeah, I know Nyo isn't top-notch, but it kept me going. I especially enjoyed fighting Spoiler Williams—way easier than expected—and I always wanted to take him down. Also, the staff (the two-part spear) is interesting. While all weapons are decent, I often switched between six or more, including the double katana. Surprised that I prefer this over the first one—it really throws a lot of weapons at you, though. Edit: still not done with the first mission; kept dying to a small enemy crab... the DLC is definitely tougher, but I like the change, and the level is huge! :o
