An odd tuning problem in Rage 2
An odd tuning problem in Rage 2
Hi everyone, I've been playing Rage 2 for about six hours without any big problems so far. The FPS is generally around 90 when all settings are at their maximum. But I noticed something odd. After killing an NPC near a wall in a ruin and continuing to shoot the corpse, the blood on the wall caused my FPS to drop to as low as 45. However, when I checked another wall or area, it returned to normal around 90. The same happened with another NPC. It seems like this might be an odd optimization or coding issue. Outside of that, I haven't experienced any stutters, lag, crashes, or artifacts. Should I treat this as a problem to fix or just ignore it? Thanks for your thoughts.
Transparent visuals such as blood and water droplets often suffer significant damage in certain games, typically causing a short-lived surge that memory or GPU speed can't handle.
Thanks for the update. For the 2060 Super, just check your settings and ensure everything is configured correctly. The FPS drop you mentioned might be due to in-game issues—try restarting the game or clearing your cache if needed. Enjoy the rest of the experience!
Some visual tricks can cause noticeable drops in frames, even solid objects need careful handling because tiny details like transparency, lighting, shadows, and depth must be rendered accurately. When you heavily render effects such as blood splatter, the performance can struggle, making things look choppy or unresponsive.
