I like doom 3, but it is starting to show its age. I found this mod which is a collection of MANY mods and puts them all into one very easy to use install package. It adds all of the amazing textures packs, sound overhaul, all new animations, you can now aim down sights, Ambient occlusion and gives you tons of control over all the graphic options. Yeah, but none of these mods work for the STEAM version as far as I am aware. And yeah it doesn't look like anything groundbreaking, but what nearly 10 year old game does at this point? Without converting it to a completely new engine, there is only so far mods can go. The new "Doom" probably won't be high end on the graphics either, but id has been a little behind on the times for many years. They are just too small of a studio to be releasing "I'm going to destroy your graphics card" type games. The whole "no reloading" has me a little worried though.
This mod package functions properly on the Steam version I own. It worked seamlessly with the game as I experienced it. The pack is designed specifically for vanilla Doom 3 and does not support the BFG edition. Watching it on YouTube doesn’t fully capture its impact. The in-game textures look great.
