AMD Wraith Prism
AMD Wraith Prism
If your mb lacks an RGB connection, you must connect the fan to a USB port. Additionally, you'll need to install software for controlling the RGB settings. I use Coolermaster and it functions well with the Prism cooler.
I mounted it using the provided instructions for Intel compatibility.
I possess a custom mounting bracket... currently it's been taken out and the CPU is submerged in the water block. The fan was removed to focus cooling on the VRMs. I placed the heatsink into my HTPC and used the square fan from the Wraith Max, identical except for the absence of RGB. I'm aiming for RGB lighting on my bench rig to enhance the eye candy effect. The bracket is visible in the photo. I replaced the AMD clip with this one and reattached the fan.
The cooler only shows the AMD logo and fan lights, but the LED ring remains off. You can adjust the colors via the software, yet the ring doesn't respond.
The internal wires of the fan case are quite narrow. It's possible the ring LEDs wire was lost. Taking it apart isn't too tough, but the toughest part is removing the fan housing from the cooler.
