Mobo had an issue last night and I currently own a 9900KF. A Z390’s Mobo costs nearly the same as a Z590. Should I stick with the 9900 or consider upgrading to something better? Or should we switch to AMD? Many sources suggest the 5600X is often preferred by Intel users, but I’m open to options since budget matters more now. I prefer Intel because of my gaming experience since 2005, though I’m willing to try AMD if it fits the price. No need to spend over 800 on a CPU! Thanks for your advice!

5600X works well, but if you only require a board, consider swapping it out.

The aim is to figure out how much you're ready to spend for a bit more performance. The 9900KF is still emerging, and you might get better results with something like the 10900K. But you won’t see any noticeable difference in real life, so is it worth the extra cost?

It was my idea when I saw how fast people are adopting the new things. It looked like only about 10% were getting in on it, which was pretty low compared to the cost.

Performance-wise, it will likely be a step down at best, and it won't justify the additional cost. Just swap it for a solid enough board.

Confirming you're not wasting resources on poor decisions. Product X is now superior and will benefit in the long run, similar to how the 9900 performed. Invest wisely and purchase it.

It looks like the typical response is the popular choice, thanks!

9900KF remains a solid CPU still, we're near the end of the lifespan for these processors. Performance improvements have dropped significantly compared to earlier models. Consider getting a Z390 board and get the 9900KF working for another couple of years at least.
