They partner with Zen. Rather than releasing additional inventory they’re unlikely to sell, which would waste cash, they’re choosing a smarter approach—preserving what they have while allowing Jim Keller to take the lead.

I'm not keen on threads being locked. I prefer Intel since it's what I've used all my life and I wouldn't switch to AMD unless I had a very tight budget. Even then...I'd still choose Intel because of how often they update their CPUs and release new systems.

I've used AMD in the past but will stick with Intel CPUs moving forward.

The decision heavily relies on the budget you have. When you can invest in an i5 processor and a 1150 gigabyte motherboard without cutting corners on the graphics card and power supply, Intel becomes the clear choice. For other components, AMD options like Athlon 760K, 860K, FX 6300, FX 8320 or even an APU work well for budget builds—whether for a family PC or HTPC. I regret that some people highlight the G3258; it struggles with multi-threaded games and shows inconsistent performance during gameplay, making it a weak option for a gaming setup or those needing more threads.

People often dislike APUs because they seem to offer great value for the cost.

Yes, the A10s seem confusing unless they're part of a deal, but the A8s and Even A6s are decent options—they're not ideal for most gamers. Any HTPC would appreciate them, a PC suited for seniors or kids would work too, and if you need video playback and light gaming, it's more than sufficient.
