The idle speed feels high, but it shouldn't stress the chip. It might just mean your motherboard is using a lower fan curve that doesn’t increase until things get warmer. What’s important is how the temperature behaves under load—about 90°C seems accurate. I own a 5900X with an NH-D15 cooler, and stress tests show it stays in the low 90s. Gaming usually doesn’t push it past 80°C.

If your 360mm radiator is obstructed by a decorative glass front panel that prevents the fans from working, or if you haven't cleaned the dust filter, it could hinder heat transfer from the coolant to the surrounding air. Still, reaching 90°C shouldn't damage the system, even if it exceeds what you anticipate for its size.

Idle periods aren't crucial, just keep it running as long as it stays under 90°C. My yearly goals have changed due to Intel and NVIDIA over time.

If your new AIO is an MSI Mag Coreliquid, that could be the issue, there has been a few that even when new have failed. Hopefully you don't have one of those.

I'm working with an X11D Evo featuring 3x120s at the base and a 360 Cooler positioned higher up. The airflow performs well overall, and I'm adjusting the bottom fans slightly faster than the top to maintain positive pressure. My concern about temperatures stemmed from wanting a quieter, gentler curve, but when the start reaches around 60 and the top hits 90, the fans spin too loudly and inconsistently. I'm beginning to suspect I'm tracking the wrong metrics—my focus is on TCTL/TDie, yet the CCDs show an average temperature about 12 degrees lower.

It makes sense to examine everything for the overall view. Boost over ride is off, but I do have custom limits and pbo/co activated. All my settings are clearly visible in that view.
