Purchased a new system and assembled it myself. It doesn’t boot fully—lights are on but fans spin, motherboard displays red CPU indicator and yellow RAM light. The monitor shows a black screen with nothing visible. I’ve tried various fixes: changed RAM slots, used one RAM at a time, removed and reattached cables to the PSU and CPU/GPU, reset BIOS, checked for bent CPU pins, reapplied thermal paste, loosened the CPU cooler, and even considered flashing BIOS. I also looked into USB flashing but found no clear instructions or support. After several hours, nothing changed. I unplugged the CPU cooler to see if it would heat up and then tried booting from the motherboard graphics. My final thoughts: some Amazon reviews suggest the motherboard or CPU might be faulty. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Use the MSI BIOS flash tool known as M-Flash. Visit MSI's site to download the most recent BIOS file and follow the steps for M-Flash.

Did you attempt to start it and wait a short while? The first boot on AM5 might take some time.

Remove all the RAM and attempt to boot. If no RAM error appears, the problem likely lies with the CPU, motherboard, or power supply. Then consider swapping components or seeking professional help.

They tried the updated versions but they didn’t function. I’m planning to take it to a repair shop next.

The issue might be with the RAM or CPU on the MSI 670 board, especially when Expo is active. Without testing parts, it's hard to say if the board itself is faulty. Did you try re-seating the CPU again?

I've already attempted that. I'm heading to the repair shop tomorrow to check which component is broken. I don't believe there are other options, and I'm out of energy to keep experimenting. I've tried all the troubleshooting steps I thought might help at this stage.

When they have additional components to exchange and evaluate, recognition becomes much simpler.
