I just realized something new from the AMD Processor Spec sheet. The latest Ryzen 6000 series laptop APU supports quad channel memory. It makes sense since a single DDR5 stick can already use dual channels. I’m curious about the performance difference between quad and dual channels. Also, with the Ryzen 9 6980HX getting more powerful and overclocking options, will these chips appear in compact or small form factor devices? Let me know!

intel has achieved notable results in integrating mobile processors into their SFF lineup. amd also offers SFF models equipped with mobile CPUs, though these are relatively uncommon because they're still emerging and haven't received immediate updates for newer ryanze releases.

I understand. Even in science fiction, we often notice manufacturers relying on desktop CPUs, unless the device is extremely compact. Laptop CPUs tend to be less powerful and slower compared to their desktop counterparts. I noticed some Tiger Lake mobile CPUs inside NUCs, but they’re quite limited due to having only four cores. Most companies still prefer low-power desktop CPUs like Intel Celeron, which handle tasks much better than mobile chips—even with just two cores. Now, AMD Ryzen laptops can offer up to eight cores, 16 threads, and a boost clock of up to 5GHz, making them capable of running as a mid-range desktop if cooling is adequate. I suspect some manufacturers chose the desktop option for reasons beyond performance, possibly due to cost considerations. It’s possible the Ryzen 4000 series APU was used in mobile form without a clear name, but still, most seem to stick with desktops despite the availability of powerful mobile options.
