AMD Ryzen 5 2600 not reaching its base frequency. Need assistance.
My 2600 is behaving oddly, consistently running at 3.4 GHz on the desktop and dropping to about 0.6 GHz when launching games. I've tried adjusting power plans, checked CPU-Z and AMD software, but nothing seems to resolve the issue. Performance is extremely poor—frames are choppy and often fall below 60. The system uses an X470 motherboard with Samsung SSD 860 EVO 250 GB, though I don't remember the exact HDD model. Windows is installed on the SSD, so it shouldn't be related to the hard drive.
I find it hard to help with this, but it sounds like running those speeds would be extremely difficult—maybe even impossible. It could be like trying to move near a black hole! Confused, right?

I totally understand your concern, but I’m still a bit puzzled. Thanks for sharing the screenshot! I hope someone with more experience can help resolve this issue and explain why power consumption decreases when the clocks are lowered.
Is that the temperature reading? It seems like the CPU is overheating. The cooler might not be installed correctly or could be faulty.
I also own a B450 asrock board. In the BIOS it shows 60 degrees, but once I upload MSI Afterburner it reads 30, so I think the fans slow down too. 90 seems a bit high—if we guess it's 30 degrees higher than that, it should be idle at 60. Just a guess, but it might help to re-upload the image first.
