Hey there, I went through some research before purchasing my new graphics card. Initially, I planned to buy an AMD RX 5600 XT, but later decided on the AMD RX 5700 because of a deal on Ebuyer that made it more affordable. While I thought I had everything covered, upon unboxing and installing the GPU, I realized I hadn't considered PCIE compatibility. Luckily, PCIE 4 is backward compatible, and my Asus H97-Plus board supports PCIE 3. My main worry now is whether using a PCIE 4 motherboard will noticeably affect performance compared to a PCIE 3 one. Since I can't afford to replace my motherboard, CPU, or RAM right away, I'm concerned about limiting the GPU's potential. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt.

the GPU can't reach the limits of PCIe 3.0. right now, no single GPU handles the link stress for gaming tasks.

No real impact will occur. Predefined standards were established, with the greatest variation being a 1% to 2% gaming difference. The main advantages of PCIe 4.0 in modern GPUs will apply mainly to specific compute tasks where data is frequently moved between the GPU and PCIe interface.

PCIe doesn’t impose restrictions, but your older i5 might become a performance hurdle with the new component.

You're considering a performance boost by switching from an older i5 4570 to a newer Ryzen 5 3600. The exact gain will depend on your workload, but generally, the Ryzen 5 3600 offers significantly better multi-core performance compared to the i5 4570. If you're not upgrading soon, the improvement should be noticeable in tasks that benefit from more threads and higher clock speeds.

You’ll likely notice a significant boost in CPU-intensive titles such as Battlefield and CSGO, while GPU-bound games will still improve but with less impact.
