AMD R9 380X experiences crashes each time a driver is added, yet functions properly without any drivers installed.
I possess a card that is a PowerColor R9 380X. It has experienced some issues recently after a crash, functioning properly in safe mode and when no driver is installed, but it crashes when a driver is loaded. I’m looking for any known fuses to inspect or fixes that could resolve this. I’ve tried reworking the card, updating software, changing the BIOS, and using older drivers—still nothing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated so my cousin can play with me.
sounds like there is a leftover problem from the driver crash, have you tried it in a different computer? Try using DDU or a reinstall of windows.
The problem continues after several installations of Windows, Linux, and across various machines. I’ve used DDU multiple times, so I’m confident on that side. It seems like a fuse might have been triggered during the driver crash, though I have limited knowledge about fuses on GPUs.
I question the fuse idea; it's more likely a faulty capacitor or another power part. Unless you're comfortable with logic boards or have access to someone who can help at a low cost, this card probably needs replacement. Someone here might suggest alternatives if you'd like.
I tried, but it wasn't very effective. The closest I reached was the window indicator screen before the system crashed.
It seems there might be an issue with the VRM on the card's board.
