Nena Trinity here, I think my board doesn't have the Fast Boot option. I wasn't able to locate it, and it seems many users are confused about this issue with AM4 MSI boards. MSI says boot times of 20 seconds are normal and that it depends on the components like CPU, GPU, and SSD. They mention AM4 boots a bit slower and suggest checking the latest BIOS updates from MSI for better performance. You can try the updated BIOS later on their site. It was quite odd having an MSI board for the AM3+ and FM2+ chips. While those boards didn’t have problems, I’m aware MSI units often include larger storage chips to hold more BIOS code for CPUs. I’m guessing the extra size might be why it took twice as long to load everything.
Hello. The MSI B550M mortar has Wi-Fi functionality. It’s experiencing slow startup without a quick boot. Recently, after about 15-20 BIOS updates, it still takes a long time to POST and display the motherboard splash screen or text. I recently built my new PC using an ASUS TUF motherboard with the B550M BIOS. The BIOS loading time is around 3-4 seconds, but a less expensive or lower-tier board boots much faster... I’m confused. Could you suggest ways to improve the boot speed?
Prior to the third-gen Ryzen, my ASRock B450 started up quickly using a 2700x in the earlier BIOS versions. After switching to 3900x, it now takes around 20 seconds to boot. I’m curious if there are any B550 models that can achieve faster startup times.
The Asrock X570m Pro loads in roughly three seconds, followed by five to seven seconds to enter Windows. The current BIOS version is quite fast now. The first boot from the box took about two minutes, but performance improved significantly afterward. Updating the BIOS made a noticeable difference.
The issue lies in the MSI's BIOS. Asus, Gigabite, and Asrock are all quick (about 3 seconds for the latest BIOS updates).
