I received my 5600x on my Asus Strix b550i. It wouldn't boot the BIOS. Fortunately, it had a USB BIOS update that resolved the issue for me. I believe it comes down to whether your motherboard is up-to-date with the latest BIOS.
I'll handle it! It seems like the problem won't be too big soon. I think the shops will be updating their stock with older BIOS versions. Plus, many places that offered pre-orders mentioned they'd provide free BIOS updates if you bought the motherboard together with the CPU—what a plus!
