AMD fx-8370 overclocking guide
I need to check if my components are suitable for overclocking the CPU (fx8370) and see what settings I should configure in the BIOS.
Like most budget AM3+ motherboards, this would be a very poor motherboard to attempt to overclock a 125W CPU. Very anemic configuration of voltage regulator modules and IIRC, no motherboard heatsink. It's not something the cooler will really help all that much in, it just has a very weak power delivery system, as again, do most inexpensive AM3+ motherboards. If you're running that CPU at stock without any throttling right now, I'd consider that a win and quit while I'm ahead.

There are multiple AMD Wraith models (Stealth, Spire & Max) with power ratings ranging from 65W TDP to 95W TDP. The AMD FX 8370 has a 125W TDP rating, which may require a more effective cooler. The performance of an overclock can be influenced by the motherboard's power delivery and the case's airflow, so ensure your CPU and motherboard are adequately cooled. Consider using a solution like the CRYORIG H7.
The Cryorig H7 is an excellent budget cooler and something I always suggest, but in this particular scenario, if he attempts to overclock, I’d rather use a down-draft cooler.
