Amd FX-6350 Bottlenecking GTX 970
Amd FX-6350 Bottlenecking GTX 970
It might happen, but not too badly. Thanks. I have another query... While playing Rust, my GPU stays below 70% while the CPU isn't at full capacity. Any suggestions to improve this? Appreciate it!
Keep an eye on your temperatures. Occasionally the CPU heats up and reduces its speed to avoid overheating. Improving the cooling system might help it run at higher speeds more consistently.
If temperatures aren't the main issue and it's operating within its rated speeds, consider overclocking. You'll likely need enhanced cooling and possibly a more powerful power supply unit.
Also, what PSU do you have? A low-quality PSU can affect CPU or GPU performance.
it doesn't cause bottlenecks, it's simply not a strong CPU in certain games. In BF4 it would never bottleneck, but in Minecraft: Planetside to StarCraft League of Legends it would
Keep an eye on your temperatures. The CPU might overheat and slow down, so improved cooling could help it run at higher speeds. If the temps are normal and it's still working at its rated clocks, consider overclocking. You may also need better cooling and a more powerful power supply. Also, let me know what PSU you have—sometimes a low-quality one can affect performance.

Hi,
My setup includes an FX-6350 and a MSI GTX 970, both functioning well. I've adjusted the CPU and GPU overclocks.
Asrock 990fx extreme 3 motherboard is in use.
FX-6350 stable at 4290 MHZ after a 220 (10%) boost (no voltage change, stock cooler).
Two 4GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM modules, overclocked to 1760 MHZ.
XFX 550 watt power supply is connected.
MSI GTX 970 overclock: +130 on core clock / +200 on memory clock / Power capped at 110% (no voltage increase).
During a benchmark with Heaven, everything remained stable:
- CPU temperature: 59°C
- GPU temperature: 71°C
Tip: Turn off AMD turbo core to avoid CPU stutter.
