Hello,
My friend and I purchased identical custom-built PCs with the following specifications:
MSI 970A-G43 PLUS
AMD FX-6300
Asus Pheonix GeForce gtx1050ti
Forton 450w PSU
8GB Dual channel Samsung RAM at 1600mhz (yay 😊)
After that, I decided to overclock my CPU and bought a Cooler Master 212 Evo cooler.
I managed to reach 4.2ghz, followed a tutorial for proper overclocking, and played CS:GO.
The temperatures stayed between 60-67 degrees... I thought it was normal and kept playing.
Later, my friend asked me to install the same cooler for him too. His temperatures were much lower at 40 degrees... I was puzzled.
Anyone can explain why? But that wasn’t the issue!
Eventually, I realized my own temperatures were too high, so I lowered the overclock to 4.1ghz and tested again.
But then my PC started crashing—showing blue screens at startup and failing to boot until I reached 4ghz.
During stress tests, I heard strange noises from the CPU, and when it crashed, it seemed like it wasn’t receiving responses from the cores in time.
Despite the temperatures being around 40 degrees, resetting the CMOS fixed everything.
I tried pushing the OC to 4.2ghz again, but the crashes resumed.
Now I’m at 4ghz, still playing CS:GO and experiencing occasional crashes.
Please help! I think I damaged my CPU :/

Regarding voltages, were they modified according to the required current levels?

CountMike asked about voltage adjustments and mentioned the OC to 4Ghz from the provided video.
