I recently enabled the fTPM on my ASUS B550 Wi-Fi motherboard due to Windows 11 TPM 2.0 requirements. After doing so, I began experiencing random stuttering across the system, regardless of CPU or GPU load. I ran the Heaven benchmark and performed heavy renders in Blender, but nothing resolved the issue. It keeps happening randomly—about three times daily. Turning off fTPM eliminated the problem. Anyone know what might be causing this? I have a 3090 and a 3900XT.

This ASUS B550 WiFi board is likely the TUF Gaming model. The TPM header suggests using a dedicated TPM chip rather than FTPM to avoid performance issues.

I reactivated fTPM to check and the stuttering returned, it seems more frequent during tasks like streaming while gaming or using Blender with videos. I’m still unsure how to resolve this; it looks like my motherboard might not support the hardware TPM socket. I’ve been looking online but found very little info on fTPM problems, which is frustrating until the next major release brings more attention to these issues.

It happened once more, but this time my task manager was open to track the CPU usage—it was at 20%. I’m really confused.

Consider reaching out to the manufacturer for further details.

Checked if 20% was applied per core or if one core was fully active while others were idle. Adjusted task manager view to display all cores separately for clearer insight.
