Just attending the AMD conference, I have to admit FidelityFX seems quite disappointing. It looks like just a sharpness filter from their demo, making asset edges appear worse and textures less defined. It feels like such an odd choice after the very positive showcase of the Ryzen 3000. Oops, I should have shared this earlier in Graphics Cards.

I'm curious about how those textures became so blurred initially. And wouldn't it still be relevant whether or not you're using a display with low motion blur?

Considering my close attention to detail, I'm constantly searching for nuances in the texture work, but if it causes everything to appear more jagged, that's a problem. It seems they reduced the anti-aliasing settings.

We aren't entirely certain about its functionality yet, but it seems designed to enhance images by upscaling them while keeping soft visuals intact and maintaining performance standards. The Unity woman mentioned in the demo expressed a preference for not over-sharpening to avoid making things look unnatural.

Another typical PR tactic for me. Likely something like Reshade post-processing and pre-rendered frame adjustments.

Seems identical to the shaped edges filter in Photoshop

If this applies, it can be added through a post-process mod.

That's correct, I get it. It seems it might work on the GPU as well, which would likely make it much quicker, though it still feels like just a rebranded raster pass.

AMD FidelityFX is equivalent to ReShade LumaSharpen. I rely on LumaSharpen for Fallout 4 and Skyrim SE, as these titles appear blurry otherwise.

It's good that it doesn't seem like a low-quality edit.
