I've noticed some stability problems with my recent build from a few weeks back. I thought I'd resolved them but still encounter a few issues and seek your advice. MSI x670e tomahawk am5 Ryzen 9 7900x Corsair vengeance RGB 64gb (4x16gb) DDR5-5600 (EXPO certified) Asrock RX 7900 XTX Taichi white. It seems running EXPO makes it very unstable—boots with memory disabled, gets stuck, or takes 15–20 minutes. Sometimes it freezes with the CPU light on and won’t boot until I force a reboot. After reseating the CPU and RAM, things improved temporarily until I turned EXPO back on. Once it did, the problems returned and forced a reimage was necessary. Currently, it seems stable as long as EXPO isn't active. What could be causing this? Also, when I first built it, I played Forza 5 without issues now it keeps crashing regardless of EXPO status. Even after uninstalling and reinstalling, the problem persists. Every other game I try just crashes, not that I care about EXPO settings.

The RAM operates at a high speed when Expo is active. Support remains adequate since both the CPU and motherboard can handle up to 6400 MHz and 6600 MHz respectively. Whether the RAM is overclocked depends on your specific model, but it’s likely within safe limits.

Typically, 4x DIMM slots aren't ideal for this setup, a 2x32GB configuration would have been more practical. Would 2x16GB DIMMs function properly with EXPO?

When EXPO is active it operates at 5600 MHZ; otherwise it functions at 3600 MHZ

I’ve got the newest BIOS, and now it looks like setting up four dimmers might be a bit challenging. I should have done more research beforehand. I haven’t tested just two yet; I’ll try again tomorrow to see how it goes. It’s strange since the RAM package shows the EXPO badge and claims compatibility.

The DIMM units come with EXPO certification, making them compatible. Zen4's setup for four DIMMs works quite differently. The most reliable RAM options seem to be Hynix-based systems. G.Skill offers several good choices. If I were you, I’d skip the 4x DIMM package and opt for a 2x32GB G.Skill kit right away—it wouldn’t be worth the effort to troubleshoot.

Gulity mentioned 4 sticks for dodo water on zen 4. To achieve 2x32 dimms, refer to the kit at the provided link.

I changed my RAM to a 2x16GB Corsair 6000MHz kit. When not using overclocking, it operates at 4800MHz and works well. With overclocking enabled, it reaches 6000MHz but remains unstable, causing blue screens or crashes. Consider checking BIOS settings or consulting the manufacturer for stability tips.

You're facing a recurring boot and stability issue with your system after upgrading the BIOS. The problem seems to stem from BIOS changes, particularly the AGESA version you installed. The crashes and blue screens suggest potential conflicts between the new BIOS settings and hardware components. Disabling Memory Context in BIOS helped temporarily but led to further instability. It appears the system is sensitive to BIOS updates, and repeated crashes indicate ongoing compatibility challenges. Consider backing up your BIOS settings before making further changes and monitoring performance closely.
