It's interesting but doesn't suit my needs. I don't have any scenarios that would make it a better CPU compared to more affordable options.
It's great, though most everyday computer users won't get much of it.
the technology is impressive, and seeing AMD re-enter the server market is noteworthy too. still challenging, though—how would a typical user benefit from such a high number of cores? i own a 16-core 1950X and only use about half in the most demanding situations.
Only a few gamers could run on that setup. You’d need 30 simulated Ryzen 3 chips with extra threads for the server. Getting 30 GPUs connected seems tricky.
It seems like the system is performing quite inefficiently, especially when measured in PPD per watt. Running it after the event is still too expensive.
