I have an AMD 6850 HD that can't play older or newer games. Installing the driver was problematic. I checked the AMD website, but they say updates for cards under 7000 HD are no longer available. Anyone help? I've searched but nothing seems to fit this card.

You can choose between the newest 15.7.1 driver or the Crimsom Beta, which still supports the latest version.
