I cannot seem to find a clear answer in the AMD marketing material., Have the graphics cores been upgraded in the 9000 series? I have a friend building a new computer.. they have been saving and want to get it and start tying it in their space as soon as possible. To that end they have the money to purchase everything but the graphics card this weekend. They were looking at the 7600x3d, but it definitely doesn't have enough graphics processing power to handle the VR games they want to play. But If their was a bump in the graphics processing power for the 9000 series... they might look at getting the 9800x3d. If anyone has seen any video of benchmarking the 9000 series onboard graphics that could also be helpful. I have seen some on the 7000 series already. Or if it's as I presume, they haven't upgraded the graphics, then I'll probably advise them to stick with the original plan.
The iGPUs remain the same. For VR gaming, you need a dedicated GPU, not an iGPU. Upgrading to the 9800X3D doesn't make sense if your main concern is GPU performance. Consider a more powerful discrete GPU instead.
Hey everyone, I thought that was my best guess. More marketing might have helped, but it would have been better if the upgrade had been faster. It was a dream come true hoping they could get something useful right away instead of waiting months to save up for the GPU before using it for their main project.
