The AMD Ryzen 5900X with the NH-L9a cooler performed well for months before overheating to 115°C. Cleaning the case didn’t resolve the issue. Consider other potential causes or consult a technician.

You're observing these temperatures in a specific environment. What activity are you engaged in while noticing them? Typically, a system would fail before reaching 115°C or the CPU would reduce power and voltage prior to that point. Confirm if the settings are configured for Celsius rather than Fahrenheit.

I’d start by adjusting the TIM, then focus on your case flow, and switch to a new cooler if needed.

The CPU cooling fan failure was resolved briefly by installing a replacement fan secured with twist ties, and assistance was obtained from noctua.

It failed immediately upon noticing these readings and I was checking the PC BIOS. The issue was a defective fan.

The CPU fan stopped working but thank you for the idea. I’ll think about it—since the cooler was still functioning well, I’m okay. I can boost performance by improving cooling if needed.
