I appreciate your build but prefer taking my time on World of Warcraft Classic. Occasionally I jump into Fortnite or Call of Duty, but most of my effort goes into leveling up as a rogue. I’m looking for a solid AMD CPU list for my X370 Pro Gaming Carbon MSI board. If switching to a B450 Tomahawk Max is an option, let me know. Should I opt for an AMD Ryzen 1600X or go with the 2200?

Choose the 1600AF (12nm) version—it delivers performance closer to a 2600. Avoid the 1600 (14nm) or 1600X options.

It's quite amusing how you managed to fit that into your B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard at a price of $85. Luckily, the layout worked out well then. I’m considering repurchasing it now, with only $92.44 for shipping. Should I keep my B450 board or upgrade to the X370 for better performance? I assumed the X370 was superior because it stood for overclocking, but I’m realizing if I’m mistaken, I might be foolish. Or are there more suitable options available for the 1600AF?

With AMD (except Intel), the just unlocked motherboards are the A320 line, and all AMD processors come with unlocked configurations.

You own a Ryzen 5 1600, a Tomahawk X370 Gaming Pro, and a B450 Tomahawk. Upgrading from the 1600 to the 1600 AF seems unnecessary since you already have that model.

I'm mentioning that I'm using a B450 tomahawk max board right now, but I'm thinking about making a second build with an X370 Pro Gaming Carbon motherboard if it's better—especially if I can get the 1600AF. If not, I'll upgrade the parts and case as I see fit. @Lurick, that sounds crazy! Someone told me X means overclockable on boards. Those liars! So I should keep my B450 and upgrade it.
