AMD cooler is firmly attached to the processor.
It's been about a month since I installed this PC, and now I'm thinking about replacing the stock cooler with an aftermarket model. I attempted to remove the existing cooler but it didn't come off easily—even after unscrewing all four screws. The cooler feels extremely rigid and won’t budge. I’m careful not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the CPU. I played games for an hour to let it heat up, then ran a Cinebench stress test, but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help me get it out? Thanks.
Run cinebench for roughly an hour as you did, then check if you can detach the CPU cooler. Be careful not to apply too much pressure so you don’t damage the pins. If that doesn’t help, you might be able to remove the entire cooler depending on the CPU—though it’s not recommended. I’ve removed a few AM4 CPUs from a cooler before without any problems.
Attempted to detach the CPU from its socket and pull it out successfully. It helped once before.
Lift the lever as instructed. Installation of the cooler prevents this action.
Pull straight up, rip the CPU from its socket. Sounds worse than it is though. It is a ZIF socket, you wont hurt anything.
It's a stock cooler model M, my AIO version let me reach it, sorry.
