I changed my BIOS to the latest release because the audio wasn't functioning properly. I didn't update the chipsets drivers using just the iGPU, but I'm going to try it now.

I wasn't proposing turning off the integrated graphics, just eliminating the 6600. Is the operating system completely current?

Are you suggesting going to a store?
Is your system functioning properly otherwise? If yes, don't stress about updating the chipset drivers. Just refresh your video drivers and that should be enough.

If possible, start your PC in safe mode. Open system restore and go back to its most recent stable state. If you can't access safe mode, create a USB recovery drive.
