Hello everyone. I’m facing a few issues and would appreciate any guidance or ideas. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

I own a motherboard ROG Strix X670-E with Wi-Fi, AMD Ryzen 9 7900, Corsair Vengeance DDR5 16GB x4, AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX 1000, and a water-cooled PSU. I managed to post it successfully after installing memory and Windows 11 without issues. The problems began after running 3D Mark and Blender. Both would struggle at first, then suddenly the system would crash abruptly—no blue screen, just a hard crash followed by a reboot. After restarting, the BIOS reset to defaults, and the time was set to January 1, 2022 at 00:02. I changed only the time and CPU settings, ran 3D Mark again, and it crashed once more. The BIOS then reset everything back to default.

I removed the memory from 4 sticks down to 2, then 1, but the issue persisted every time. I even tried changing the BIOS version and reloading the current one, but nothing helped. Recently, the system keeps failing even when idle, which is unusual.

My main concern is the motherboard. I’ve already reported it to Asus, who said nothing was wrong, but they can’t replicate the problem. It’s frustrating. My only memory sticks are DDR5 1600, all four. Other systems use DDR4. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What is your memory kit's speed? If it exceeds 5200, reduce it to that speed and test again.

Many users face issues with DDR5 when connecting more than two sticks. Test with two sticks in A2 and B2. Verify your RAM is included in the supported list. Upgrading to new hardware requires keeping your BIOS updated.

Review each kit in a two-slot setup to confirm independent performance. Adjust the memory speed to 4800 manually and observe if stability improves. Many discussions highlight problems with two 2-in-stick kits using DDR5 together.

Current Memory has been installed. A1: Corsair 16384 4800MHz A2: Corsair 16384 4800MHz B1: Corsair 16384 4800MHz B2: Corsair 16384 4800MHz CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000) CMH32GX5M2D6000C36 From some feedback, the memory I’m using is 32GB, which is currently the preferred choice with two slots available. Using more causes problems. This seems accurate? ?? After reviewing Asus memory, it appears I might have overlooked something. It looks like for the memory size I need, Corsair Dominator (CMT64GX5M2X5600C40) at 64GB is required. However, only two sticks are available, not four as expected. The current memory isn’t listed as supported, especially with DDR5. It seems DD5 is quite selective. It’s possible the BIOS crashes during a full reset.

The module versions are listed in the documentation. I can describe them clearly and arrange a layout for the four items if needed.

Work in the military once more took control of my routine. I had to stay employed for some time. Upon returning, I tried again. After each change, I ran 3dMark first, then FurMark. Swapped the memory with the recommended ASUS option, but the BIOS crashed. Updated the M.2 drives using the ones I already owned. It crashed once more. Borrowed a CPU from a friend and replaced it with an AMD 7900 XTX, which was swapped for a Nvidia 2080. No crashes afterward. It’s functioning well in stress mode since 3dMark, lasting three hours. Even when built with water cooling, it never exceeded 50°C. I filed a warranty claim with AMD. This is the first time I’ve noticed a GPU handling this kind of issue. If it fails, it’s clearly a manufacturing problem. Thanks for all the support!
