I picked up a 5950x because of its lower price. I ran some benchmarks and found it running at around 58°C, capping around 3.8 GHz. With my 360 AIO, the temperature was manageable, but the speed was still lacking. I decided to upgrade to Ryzen Master and enabled auto overclocking. After testing with Cinebench, I was surprised by how slow it performed initially. Since my BIOS already had PBO enabled, it didn’t reach higher speeds even when auto overclocked. By default, the chips come with its standard heatsink or fan setup. (Or if none is included, you can add popular aftermarket coolers.) Note that pushing overclocking raises power use past what's listed, which adds another factor. It can deliver higher performance for longer as long as cooling is sufficient, but manufacturers intentionally limit it to avoid early complaints about overheating. Also, overclocking usually breaks the warranty. Ryzen Master is quite flexible—I use it to raise my 3900X’s 12 cores to 4.3Ghz during demanding multithreaded tasks.
They likely used Ryzen Master to make it seem like the chip was overclocked, even if it wasn’t. It’s possible they simply assumed it was their responsibility. The company probably wants you to handle the overclocking yourself. Extreme users might face different rules since AMD wouldn’t support such actions after extreme testing.
A solid BIOS should alert you or prevent users from applying extreme voltages. Some BIOS versions even displayed such warnings during the Phenom era.

Absolutely, the main components perform best around 4500-4600 on your chip. A bit more load at 4700 works okay. You only have a 5900X, but it should handle it better than mine.
