AMD APU system minor overclock adjustment
AMD APU system minor overclock adjustment
Hello, I have an AMD A8 7600 with 8GB 2100 RAM and the integrated graphics chip because of the APU. My questions are, how can I slightly overclock my system?
I understand that the CPU, GPU, and RAM are connected closely, especially since the graphics power comes from the CPU and RAM in an APU setup.
I’m not very familiar with things like timings or voltages, so what changes could I make?
CPU clock?
RAM clock?
RAM timings?
GPU engine clock?
Like I mentioned, I just want a small increase for testing, but I’m not experienced with these settings and don’t know which adjustments are safe.
I use an Asrock A68-HD+ motherboard and the standard AMD graphics drivers from the official website.
Thanks if you can help me.
For a non-K AMD APU, adjusting the CPU bus speed and lowering DRAM frequency is necessary. This is to prevent everything from becoming overclocked. You should raise the VCore like in the K versions, while reducing the CPU bus and other related parameters.
what are the ram timings and bios graphics bus speeds, and can i adjust them to higher values like 750 or more? if i plan to overclock the cpu through the bus, what safe bus speed ranges should i aim for from 100 to 110? and what vcore adjustments would be needed beyond just changing the vcore?
And can I make adjustments on an APU system considering RAM timings, all those CL ratings, RAS timings, etc.? I tried overclocking via the bus to 110, but nothing changed. After that, I couldn't boot because the screen was black during startup and no graphics appeared, so I had to reset the jumper to enter BIOS again.
