Hi, I have a Philips 346P1CRH/00 display that should work with AdaptiveSync based on various sources and the official site. It connects using a DP 1.4 cable, which is about 10 meters long. Adrenaline mentions FreeSync isn't compatible, but I'm curious if the cable length or features like HDR could interfere with FreeSync. I recently spoke with Philips support, who were dismissive of my concerns and insisted AdaptiveSync is a separate system. It seems they might be incorrect, though it's frustrating. I suspect something about the monitor's age or its implementation could be the issue. The manual suggests an option to enable or disable AdaptiveSync, but it doesn't appear there. Most listed GPUs are R9-based, and I wonder if the standard settings limit compatibility with newer cards.

When examining this display, it doesn’t mention support for Freesync or Adaptive Sync. Most online stores still show a "No" for both FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility. Are you certain it needs to work with those technologies?

It works with Adaptive Sync as described on the monitor’s webpage and in the user guide, page 20. Would you like to test using a shorter cable? If this 30ft cable is an affordable Amazon option, it might be the issue.

It's a solid observation, the issue shifts to selecting the appropriate cable. Since most of my cables are generic Chinese ones, it's hard to rely on specific brands without spending much money locally—especially when many are likely made in China too. This makes it a bit uncertain... If the cable quality were the main concern, reducing resolution or refresh rate might be the solution for FreeSync compatibility. However, I'm curious if lower latency becomes more noticeable over such distances. I thought maybe the problem lies in the communication between monitor and GPU, which doubles with each round trip, similar to how Adaptive Sync works.
