I purchased a Beelink SER 7 mini PC about a week ago. It features 32GB RAM at 5600MHz and a 1TB P3 Plus SSD. The operating system is Windows 11 Pro with BitLocker activated. My performance ratings are R23 multicore at 14.5k and 11k in Geekbench 6.2. Although these numbers aren’t exceptional, they lag behind what the SER7 with 7840HS can achieve—or generally what a 7840HS is capable of, especially given its 54W TDP. I’m seeing comparable results at 65W TDP as well. Apart from the modest scores, I’ve noticed occasional freezes, though I’m not certain about their cause. I achieved a 3.3k score in 3DMark Timespy, which aligns with expectations.
So far, my troubleshooting steps include:
1) Running a fresh Windows 10 install with the newest AMD and chipset drivers; even after driver updates and a full reinstall, Cinebench remains around 14.7k.
2) Updating the BIOS from the manufacturer; this lowered the average Cinebench to 14.5k.
3) Experimenting with various settings in Universal Tuning Utility—results unchanged. Temperatures stay stable, often between 80°C and 83-84°C.
Other users with similar CPUs such as 7840U, 7940HS or Z1 Extreme might share similar experiences. Could you please share your Cinebench R23 results?
I'm not sure about your background with mini PCs, but each one comes with its own constraints. These can stem from software settings, BIOS configurations, or even weak hardware design.
