Performance is low in CS:GO on my AMD 5800x + Asus Tuf Gaming B550 Gaming Plus setup, usually around 150-200 FPS, sometimes dropping to 80-90 FPS. Temperatures stay between 60-65°C. I see 400-500 FPS with similar hardware, but only CS:GO is affected. My BIOS is up to date. Need help fixing this issue.

Check the graphics options. The scale might be too high. As you mentioned, other games are working fine, so your RAM speed should be correct and not causing issues.

Your graphics configuration is quite low. You're running at 1280x1024 resolution on a 2K display. Your RAM is a Corsair Vengeance 1×16GB with XMP profile activated at 3000MHz.

You're using just one memory stick? Best results come from pairs (2 or 4 sticks). DDR4-3000 works, but Ryzen setups should aim for DDR4-3600. Are you playing in Windows Mode / Borderless or Full Screen? Window modes can affect CPU and GPU performance. What speeds are your CPU and GPU reaching during the game?

I have a single stick RAM setup. The typical speed I’m using is around 2xxx, though I’m not sure of the exact number. My RAM’s XMP setting is at 3000. I’m playing in fullscreen stretched mode. The GPU isn’t being used much during the game. My CPU is running at over 4000 MHz. Sometimes after a fresh start, I see around 400-500 FPS for about 5 to 10 minutes, but it drops to 150-200 afterward. Temperatures stay below 65°C, CPU and GPU usage remain consistent.

Check the specifications for the AMD 5800x to confirm its RAM speed limits. A 3600 MHz RAM might not be compatible if the motherboard only supports up to 3200 MHz.

Absolutely, adding more RAM would help. Using single-channel settings can hurt performance in games that demand heavy processing, such as CSGO.

The site claims compatibility at 3200MHz but lists 5800x as unsupported.

3200 is the recommended official speed, yet the Ryzen 5000 series handles 3600 well in most cases. My girlfriend's system runs a Ryzen 5 5600G with 2x8GB at 3600 MHz. Using just 1x8GB leaves you missing dual-channel benefits, resulting in significantly reduced memory bandwidth. AMD CPUs rely on their "Infinity Fabric" architecture, where core communication hinges on RAM speed. Higher bandwidth and reduced latency boost performance, so adding another 8GB DDR4-3000 would likely improve things. Even with Intel processors, achieving top FPS demands strong memory performance. Jumping from 200fps to 400fps won't work with DDR4-2133.
