AMD 14.4 Color problem – color now shifts to pink instead of gray.
I changed my AMD driver from 13.9 to 14.4. After that, Chrome started displaying pink in the menu bars and bookmark bar. This happened even though they should be the standard grey gradient. I also noticed the same pink tone spreading across other windows. The whites and other colors look normal. My monitor settings stayed the same, and my Windows themes didn’t update. The issue seems linked to the driver change. No changes were made in the AMD control center either. It appears the screenshot shows the problem clearly on my PC. My monitor settings remain unchanged from before the update. UPDATE: the image highlights the pink areas, which are typically grey or gradient by default in Windows 7. It seems like the issue might be with your cables or monitor. I tried reverting the drivers, which could have fixed the problem between the GPU and the display. It appears to work well on my setup.
Make sure your color preferences are set in Catalyst. It looks like there should be an option for this. Also, verify the display settings on your screen.
I plan to test another monitor tomorrow to verify if this old device is truly failing. If I revert the drivers, it should return to version 13.9. The only reason I updated was because the beta version wouldn't support 13.9 (that's a separate issue). Just bought it today and it crashes within the first five seconds. All color settings are set to their default values—I haven’t adjusted them before.
Avoid capturing defective video cables. Run amd cleanup utility and reinstall version 14.4 via Windows Update.
Adjust the colour temperature to 6500K in CCC. This should eliminate the pink hue. Note: The default 14.4 might actually be set to 6400K.
