Hi, I saw a vintage AMD PC at work that I disassembled. You can check the photos for details, but there isn’t much text left. Could you help me locate more information about it? Thanks!

You're looking into identifying the components and their relevance today. It seems you're checking if these parts still hold value or fit modern needs.

Motherboard is AMD Socket A (462 pin) ECS. Basic motherboard K7VMM, limited overclocking on the VIA chipset. The cpu may hold some value. Would like to see a clear picture of that. The memory belongs to older hardware yet. Maybe Slot A or Slot 1 processor boards. Something like that. And lastly an old Fire Wire pci card. Neat stuff. Edit: Oh cool, ECS still has a little support there with 2x bios updates. https://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Produc...stem/K7VMM -LL-V1-DO-2A-RR-/Socket 462-LL-AMD-RR-

Nice. Thank you. 1300mhz Model: 1300 Duron. 180nm Yes, the part numbers used to match the frequency! Kinda wish they still did stuff like that...... Here's technical data. http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/K7/AMD-Duron 1300 - DHD1300AMT1B.html Pretty much run of the mill Cpu.

That release came out in 2002. I recall some from 1999 possibly around the time socket A was introduced—maybe around 1998 or 1999. Frequency standards were common, and some models reached up to 2400+ MHz, with a 2600+ MHz variant released later, around 1998-99. There were also chips at 2.0 GHz, and possibly even higher speeds. I have several 1999 units here. They produced a large number of these devices.

I only remember finding them in CPU-Z's top frequency lists (too new to apply when they matter). I’m wondering, “What’s going on?”

What value remains in a used item today?
