AM5 mounting bracket
AM5 mounting bracket
It's possible the factory bracket had the backplate dislodged, causing the screws to spin.
There are multiple socket makers involved. It seems there was a recent update at one time. It varies by motherboard. Some boards attach it directly to the board, which might not be ideal: sticking to the original ILM works better. Intel has problems with this approach, but AMD's AM5 is functioning well.
I only know you have an MSI Mag X870e motherboard, and I don’t know whether the plate is attached by glue or screws.
Did you resolve the problem? You're experiencing the same issue where your contact frame doesn't connect properly to the motherboard, sitting above it instead of resting underneath or flush. Edit: It appears the frame isn't compatible with your motherboard. Updated: January 29 by Meox
