I just bought an am5 contact frame for my 9800x3d and x870e msi mobo for the hell of it. I went to throw her in and the securing screws just seem to spin when tightening them with the tool. Is x870e no compatible now or is it my error some how? I am very confused.

AM5 remains AM5 regardless of the chipset; it works with any setup. It might be a faulty screw or some damage.

They work well if everything is in good condition and you're adhering to the instructions. But since an AM5 contact frame lacks practical use, you might opt to send it back to the original supplier.

Everyone just spins and looks insignificant compared to the securing holes. I just tried to open it up now, but nothing works.

I prefer to use it because I purchased it and now I need it, so I’ll look for a solution.

Where did you acquire this? If it's a Chinese adaptation, it might be a scam... otherwise, send it back if the screws aren't fitting.

Purchased the typical thermal model that most people use. I might attempt the thermal griz version, but I’m unsure if it would change anything.

Are you sure the backplate is securely placed on the motherboard during installation? In a case, it's likely the plate came loose when you removed the ILM. On the box, it may have slipped slightly so the screws can't reach properly.

What kind of backplate? My motherboard didn’t come with an attachable one, and I’m building it myself, so I haven’t run into that issue.
