my new pc handles it too, though not quite as well. I guess it comes down to the fans and setup.

You install the newest BIOS on your system, yet the GPU fails to function properly afterward. On your older machine with an i7-980X, this issue was typical, indicating it might be resolved with an improved BIOS version.

The newest BIOS update made me think the issue is with the firmware, and they replied, "The reported request has been logged." I guess we'll find out if they actually address it later.
