Hey there! I'm checking if AM5 can work with AM4 setups. You're planning around a 3600 MHz board, so it's worth looking into current compatibility options. Let me know if you need more details!

They wouldn't be this vague; a clearer name would be better (like AM4+).

AM5 most likely wont be compatible with AM4. Just like TRX isnt compatible with TR, even though the pin "holes" are the same. Also, no reason to buy a 3600x, the 3600 is about the same but cheaper, and can likely be oc'ed to be the same as the 3600x. There's really little/no binning between the 3600x and the 3600 so it doesn't really matter if you get the 3600x. If youre just gaming, though, the 6700k and 1070 should still treat you just fine unless youre experiencing problems with it because of xxx....

They might have altered the name for clarity or branding reasons, even if compatibility existed.

It's likely version 4 or higher, not 5, and they won't work together. They're expected to arrive a few years after the final Ryzen release.

Current data suggests AM5 will run DDR5 and PCIe 5.0, meaning older AM4 boards likely won’t work with the new Zen 4 chips.

Maybe there’s a chance they won’t work together.
