AM4 processor access enabled for AMD® 760G chipset
Hello, my friend gave me an AM3 board - you can view it here: http://www.gigabyte.pl/products/page/mb/...us2h_10#kf. I’m not planning to use it. I’m trying to assemble my second rig again after selling my X58 Combo. I discovered a Google Docs sheet (link provided) that lists all unlockable CPUs. My aim is to fit one of these onto the board and see if it works. Will it function? I have a solid air cooler, an ASUS Triton 78.
Need to clarify it here: There are no hidden cores in an X2 255 Regor, it's a native dual core so all of what's there are already working with nothing hidden. You can go for a chip that does have hidden/locked cores and try it but with the one you named, doesn't matter what board you put it in - There is nothing to unlock so ain't happening with that one. However from the list shown I'd try a 960T and see if it does or not - Do know even if it does unlock the core(s) it doesn't mean you can actually use them, some were locked for good reason (Defective) and it also messes with things like CPU temp reading sensors. Another good candidate to unlock would be a X2 555 BE (Calisto) and many of those unlock to a fully functioning quad core Deneb - Mine does.
However, it seems impossible for a Rego core to contain hidden cores that unlock unless they actually exist. The user can explore CPU World to learn about chip models and specifications. CPU-World offers microprocessor updates, benchmarks, details, and images.
It really depends on each component, though for my setup 4.3 on regular water works well throughout the day. For more intense tasks I've seen it handle before: Bones' wPrime - 1024m took 6 minutes and 5 seconds at 296ms. You'll need to adjust a lot to identify the exact chip once you own it, but it's manageable. With this board model you won't be getting high speeds, but it's still enjoyable to experiment.
I believe I've finished my shopping list. Thanks everyone for your assistance—I'll place an order for other components soon. I t
