He’s asking for help upgrading his CPU since he’s seeing constant frame drops. The chat reacts with frustration, some calling him out on the situation.

He isn't very helpful, so just get an i7 or better and shut down all background programs to check his RAM usage—BF1 really uses a lot of memory.

It varies. I've seldom noticed my i5 reaching 100% on BF1 when my 1080 stays at full speed. I'd look into other components to see what else might be limiting. Going through the bottleneck path seems too simple and not very useful.

It’s a clear warning when you’re giving tech tips in a multiplayer setting with many players who also enjoy spending time with your mom. Talk to your service provider about it.

The answer varies based on the specific i5 model. Memory requirements are important for BF1, and choosing between an SSD or not depends on your needs.

If you're willing to spend on a 1080, you shouldn't be purchasing an i5 for BF1. It's been pointed out that i5 models often struggle with frame rates in BF1. Even with my 1070, I experienced frame drops while playing online. He asked a question and received a reasonable response. My explanation made more sense than others suggesting he should invest more in a 1080 TI.

There are no time-related problems. Texture loading, memory usage, and background apps may lead to the same issue.

Ugh, it seems you're already in the second phase! You need to hurry to the Amazon right away! Your tips were helpful, you're not crazy, but you're treating this like a personal issue.

I saw the difference when switching from a rx 470 to this 1070... I don’t see as many frames and my performance drops sharply in intense scenes with lots of explosions and fire.

BF1 benefits from many threads as well, SSDs won’t significantly raise FPS—my experience shows faster loading without a noticeable speed increase.
