Linus pointed out that the laptop's WiFi card is quite poor, so I was curious about a better alternative. I’m not familiar with WiFi cards and didn’t expect this to fall under networking.

It's similar to swapping RAM for two additional cables. Typically, the Wi-Fi card is housed in an M.2 slot, located at the bottom of the laptop. Remove it to check for access. Remember to avoid damaging warranty stickers.

It would be wise to try it out yourself and verify the laptop can be opened easily.

Check the compatibility details for that card. The link points to a discussion where someone says it doesn't work with the Intel 9260. Stick with your choice.

I used the 9260 in my laptop, but I’m seeing code 10 in Device Manager and the card isn’t functioning. Resetting the BIOS to defaults helped others, but it doesn’t seem to work for me.

You recently installed the 9260 chipset into your laptop, but it’s not functioning properly. It doesn’t appear in the device manager, and driver updates haven’t resolved the issue. The Wi-Fi card you’re using is the Realtek rtl8821ce.

Consider checking ASUS for compatible cards. I used a similar approach with my sisters' HP systems, reviewing around 20 options before selecting the optimal choice. This helped upgrade from a poor wireless N to a better Wireless AC card.

It seems ASUS hasn't provided any information yet. You reached out and mentioned they need a repaired device to share details, which feels unusual.
