When using the DS4 controller, the software treats it as a Xbox 360 controller even though it includes some trackpad features. I favor this setup over the Xbox 360 or Xbox One controllers mainly because I don’t have to frequently replace batteries during wireless use. I think the Bluetooth adapter needs to be a recent model; you should verify it meets the required specs. The only issue I have with the DS4 is that the analog sticks feel a bit unstable. Otherwise, I really like it.

I enjoy the sensation of the PS4. However, since I own a Wii U, I've become accustomed to its bigger controller. The only issue with the Xbox One is the wireless feature. I appreciate being able to use that with PS4, but I'll need to explore the prompts more carefully. It seems most games are designed for the Xbox controller, which makes this a strong reason I might have limited options. I should verify if my Bluetooth adapter functions properly.

Currently, until Microsoft activates Bluetooth or wireless direct for the X1 controller, I’ll stick with the PS4 or X360 using a dongle. The PS4 controller will function out of the box when you have the DS4 driver installed.

It seems like you're suggesting something works best when you handle it yourself.

I dislike the Xbox One's D-pad and analog sticks, so I'd choose the DS4 instead.
