I just verify the connection to the servers here. Pressing the Windows key and returning to the program restores the Steam overlay.

Steam servers are functional. I'm having trouble locating friends' games during hosting, and sometimes the available multiplayer options seem different. I'll attempt the Steam overlay again, though previous tries with "windowed" didn't help. The Shift + Tab shortcut isn't working either.
