All USB connections and Bluetooth links are frequently dropping.
Hey, I noticed some problems yesterday with my devices not connecting properly. The USB 2.0 ports for keyboard and mice, USB 3.0 for the external hard drive, USB-C for the SSD, and even the Bluetooth headphones all had issues. After restarting my PC, everything functioned normally, but when I began using 3D software, the connections would repeatedly drop and reconnect. This usually occurred 5 to 7 times in a row, then would resolve itself after a few hours. Eventually, it would restart again after some time.
At first, I suspected the issue was related to USB bus drivers, so I tried reinstalling the drivers multiple times without much success. I also downloaded the Easy Drive Pro software, which updated all the drivers on my system. I disabled USB suspend in the power settings and ran the hardware troubleshooter, but it didn’t find anything. Everything seemed to work fine in both BIOS and Windows, except when I was actively working.
The problem seemed to appear the day before I started working or gaming, and only happened after uninstalling a game. I checked for updates and found an entry for Apple’s USBDevice, but I wasn’t sure if it was installed automatically or during the driver reinstall. I also looked around for any other unfamiliar items, but I didn’t use Apple products and have a custom-built PC.
My PC has been reliable for over two years, but recently transporting it across Europe caused some stress. The old GPU got damaged during the move, so I replaced it with a new one. This might have affected the motherboard or caused vibrations that could interfere with connections. However, the issue started a week later and only occurred during active use, not in BIOS.
I’m unsure what exactly is causing this and how to fix it. I might consider reinstalling Windows, but I’m worried about losing data since I have a lot of files and limited external storage options. It’s also risky to connect devices during the process. If you have any advice, I’d really appreciate it.
