Ay people, recently picked up a used desktop pc so i could actually have something to use instead of a laptop, experience has been nice so far but tonight i did something a little bit stupid and set the memory speed in bios to 1600 (its ddr3) i forgot that only two sticks of my 12gbs were rated for that speed so it cause my system not to boot, i reset it back to 1333 so the ram other 2 sticks would work, but now my Intel DP67BA will not boot if the 2nd ram channel is populated, i can't tell if something weird is goin on or if i somehow fried the 2nd ram slot while undoing what i had done previously
It seems the system won't power on when using a stick in the second position. This usually points to either a bent pin inside the socket or a faulty channel in the CPU memory controller. You may have checked all the sticks in that slot or another location.
I've checked all the other options, the RAM performs flawlessly everywhere. The second slot seems to have failed unexpectedly—maybe the CPU somehow bent its pins without obvious signs, especially after adjusting the memory speed. It's really confusing. Any suggestions for resolving this issue?
It seems you need to remove the CPU cooler, but you don’t have thermal paste available. You might not be able to proceed with the cooling setup tonight.
Additionally, I discovered that only the initial RAM module is being detected, while all the others remain unrecognized.
Gather additional thermal paste and reinstall the CPU. After doing so, carefully verify there are no misaligned pins or any debris inside the socket.
Maybe. I thought it worked before I did the XMP change, but now it seems like everything is broken.
